 "High Altitude Baking & Recipe Rescue" Cooking Class Retreat at V.A. Poma Ranch Learn to adjust your recipes to work at high altitude! When: 11 am Friday August 13 to 3 pm August 14, 2010 Where: V.A. Poma Ranch You Get: *Friday Brunch at 10 am *All day, hands on, baking class conducted by Kathy Keyes, master baker & owner of Pagosa Baking Company *Friday dinner at 7 pm that will include results of the day's class work *Evening Campfire *Friday and Saturday nights lodging in one of the V.A. Poma Ranch's historic, clean, comfortable camp cabins *Saturday Sourdough Pancake Breakfast at 9am, and use of the Ranch facilities until 3 pm Price: $176 per person includes 3 meals, lodging, class and materials By Reservation Only!! We’ll start with a session on the math of converting recipes. We will then move on to the hands-on of testing outcome and refining results. Submit a recipe (via email to Kathy@pagosabakingcompany.com) that you’ve had trouble with at altitude, and three or four will be chosen to take through the conversion process to completed product. Pagosa Baking Company will provide basic baking ingredients (all purpose flour, sugar, brown sugar, eggs, butter, vanilla, milk, cream, baking soda, baking powder, and yeast). There will also be a food scale for use and scales available for purchase. You Need:To be comfortable - it’s Camp!
